Dion Boyd, a 57-year-old African American male, was a high-ranking member of the Chicago Police Department (CPD). On July 28, 2020, Boyd was found dead in his office at the Homan Square police facility on Chicago's West Side. His death was ruled a suicide by the Cook County medical examiner's office, with the cause being a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest.
