In the summer of 2008, a young life was tragically cut short on the streets of Baltimore. Troy Wilson, a 17-year-old Black male, was found shot on July 29, 2008, in the 1200 block of Orleans Street. Despite being rushed to Johns Hopkins Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.
Remembered as a charming young man with a warm smile and a gentle, friendly attitude, Troy had a creative and intelligent mind.
In his younger years, he demonstrated a talent for science, winning a third-grade science fair hosted by Morgan State University and later triumphing again at the citywide science fair in the sixth grade. Known affectionately as 'T.J.' by his family, he also had a love for the water, skating, and reading road maps, dreaming of one day traveling the world.
Born on August 28, 1990, Troy was a student in the Baltimore City Public Schools. His sudden death left behind his loving mother, Sharon S. Lesesane, his father, Troy L. Wilson, Sr., a sister, and a brother, along with his devoted grandmother and a host of other relatives and friends who mourned the loss of a young man with so much potential.
