In the early afternoon of a spring day in Baltimore, the sound of gunfire pierced the air, setting in motion a tragic sequence of events. On April 2, 2024, at approximately 1:07 p.m., a ShotSpotter alert drew Baltimore Police Department officers to the 2300 block of Lafayette Avenue. Upon their arrival, they discovered a young man, 22-year-old Marvin Washington, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.
Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene, and
Washington was quickly transported to a nearby hospital. Despite the urgent efforts of medical personnel, the severity of his injuries proved to be overwhelming. A short time after his arrival at the hospital, Marvin Washington, a male, was pronounced deceased.
The Baltimore Police Department's Homicide detectives have taken charge of the investigation into Washington's death. As of now, authorities have not released any information regarding a potential suspect or suspects in the fatal shooting. The investigation is ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in bringing those responsible to justice. No arrests have been announced in connection with the case.
