Kieshaun Lamar Thatch, a 17-year-old African American male from Champaign, Illinois, tragically lost his life on July 2, 2021. Kieshaun was attending a post-funeral gathering for his uncle at the American Legion post on Hickory Street when he was fatally shot. The incident occurred during the afternoon, and it was reported that more than 100 people were present at the scene.
