On Monday, October 7, 2024, 76-year-old Linda Shirle Lowhorn Flowers was found deceased in her home on Lakepoint Drive. Alongside her was her friend, 78-year-old Linda Ruth Crouch, who had also lost her life. The women, both residents of Albany, were discovered after authorities were called to the residence for a welfare check.
Investigations by the Kentucky
State Police and the Clinton County Coroner's Office revealed that both women had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. The circumstances of their deaths pointed to a double homicide. Further investigation uncovered a third body on the property. Outside the residence, authorities found 45-year-old Brent Flowers, the son of Linda Flowers, who had died from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Authorities believe the tragic incident occurred on Sunday, following a morning church service that Linda Flowers and Linda Crouch had attended together. After the service, the two friends went out for a meal before returning to Flowers' home. The motive for the shootings has not been released.
Linda Shirle Lowhorn Flowers was born on January 18, 1948, in Albany, Kentucky. She was a member of Lee's Chapel Church and the co-owner and operator of Flowers Aluminum. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Rolan Flowers, and her son, Brent Rolan Flowers. She is survived by her grandson, sisters, and other family and friends. The funeral service for both Linda Flowers and her son, Brent, was held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, with burial in the Peolia Cemetery in Clinton County.
