On September 18, 2021, Charles L. Jones Jr., a 21-year-old African American male from Danville, Illinois, tragically lost his life in a shooting incident at the Bluebird Liquor Store located on East Main Street in Danville. The shooting occurred around 1:55 a.m., resulting in the deaths of Charles L. Jones Jr. and another victim, 20-year-old Leslie E. Fisher Jr., also from Danville. Two other individuals were injured in the incident and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
