On December 29, 2018, in Danville, Illinois, 58-year-old Daryl Knight was fatally shot by his son, 37-year-old Christopher Knight, in what authorities determined to be a murder-suicide. The incident occurred following a verbal altercation between the two men. A female family member, who was present during the dispute, witnessed Christopher Knight shoot his father before fleeing the residence to seek help. Both Daryl and Christopher were found deceased at the scene by Vermilion County deputies.
