On December 29, 2018, in Danville, Illinois, 58-year-old Daryl Knight was fatally shot by his son, 37-year-old Christopher Knight, in what authorities determined to be a murder-suicide. The incident occurred following a verbal altercation between the two men. A female family member, who was present during the dispute, witnessed Christopher Knight shoot his father before fleeing the residence to seek help.
