Samih "Sam" Altimemy, a 29-year-old Iraqi immigrant and U.S. citizen, was tragically shot multiple times on November 19, 2021, outside his parents' home in the 300 block of Bancroft Court in Rockford, Illinois. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The incident occurred just a week before he was scheduled to get married, adding to the heartbreak felt by his family and the local community.
