Willie Kirk Fredd, a 54-year-old African American male, was tragically murdered on January 27, 1981, in Rockford, Illinois. Fredd, who owned Fredd's Groceries, was shot and killed along with his stockboy, 20-year-old Albert Pearson, during an armed robbery.
