Robert J. "Bobby" O'Hern Jr., a 46-year-old white male from Rockford, Illinois, tragically passed away on March 9, 2014. Born on November 11, 1967, to Mary Beecher and Robert O'Hern Sr., Robert was a long-time resident of Rockford and had worked at Rockford Products for 21 years before his employment with Americo Chemical in Carol Stream. He was a beloved father to his sons, Joshua and Jesse O'Hern, and was known for his love of the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs, as well as his enjoyment of
fishing and playing darts.
On the morning of March 9, 2014, Rockford Police responded to a report of an unresponsive individual lying in an alley behind a house at 3215 Parkside Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered Robert O'Hern, who had died from a single gunshot wound to the head. His blue Chevrolet Monte Carlo was also stolen from the scene. It is believed that Robert was shot sometime during the night of March 8 or early morning of March 9.
