Sadarius D. Givens, a 20-year-old African American male from Decatur, Illinois, tragically lost his life on June 5, 2022. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning at an apartment complex located at 333 E. Center Street. According to the Macon County Coroner, Sadarius Givens died from a gunshot wound to the neck. The police were called to the scene following reports of multiple shots fired, and upon arrival, they found Givens deceased at the scene. A 17-year-old juvenile was also injured in the shooting but survived with non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation into the death of Sadarius Givens led to the arrest of 18-year-old Kaderius D. Wright-Jarrett. Wright-Jarrett, also an African American male, was charged with three counts of First Degree Murder.
