On May 5, 2023, at approximately 5:38 p.m., Decatur Police Department officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 100 block of West Packard Street. Upon arrival, they found 28-year-old Travion Shonterious Pickens suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Decatur Memorial Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
