On June 24, 2022, 19-year-old male Yazeed Emad “Yaz” Abunajim, who was of Middle Eastern descent, was fatally shot in Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred in the Altgeld Gardens neighborhood on the city's Far South Side. According to police reports, the shooting took place in the 800 block of East 132nd Street during the early hours of the morning.
