Charles Abner Roberts, a 52-year-old white male, served as the Town Marshal in Donalsonville, Georgia. On December 23, 1911, he was tragically killed while attempting to arrest a suspect who had threatened a citizen with a pistol. The incident occurred on the outskirts of Donalsonville when Marshal Roberts confronted the suspect and ordered him to exit his wagon.
