George Edward Goare, a 47-year-old white male, served as the Sheriff of Webster County, Georgia. On April 11, 1985, Sheriff Goare was tragically killed while performing his duties. He was transporting a 19-year-old suspect to Richland, Georgia, as part of an investigation into a murder that had occurred six days earlier.
