Melvin Grigley, a 51-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on July 2, 2000, in Atlanta, Georgia. Sergeant Grigley, who served with the Atlanta Police Department for 26 years and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, was off duty at the time of his death.
