In the late hours of a Saturday in Macon, Georgia, the life of 16-year-old Damian Bernard 'Little Petey' Clayton was tragically cut short. On February 22, 2014, the African American teenager was discovered at the Macon Little League field on Anthony Road, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his head, torso, and arm. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. His death was the culmination of a series of violent events, as he had been the target of a previous shooting just three months prior, an incident that claimed the life of another teenager, 16-year-old Alyssa Zari Jackson.
The investigation into Damian's murder quickly led to the arrests of two other teenagers. Jedarrius Treonta Meadows Jr., 17, and Roland Watson, 15, were taken into custody and charged with his murder. It was reported that Watson would be charged as an adult. Authorities indicated that the shooting was connected to an ongoing feud between rival gangs in the area.
