In the warm spring of 2014, a life was cut tragically short on the streets of Savannah, Georgia. Malcolm X. Mitchell, a 21-year-old African American man, found himself in a violent confrontation on the afternoon of April 20th. At the intersection of Waters Avenue and East 38th Street, the sound of gunfire shattered the Sunday peace. When the chaos subsided, Mitchell had been shot.
