On June 28, 1978, a gruesome and shocking crime took place at the Blackfriars Pub, located on Summer Street in Downtown Boston, Massachusetts. Among the five victims found in the blood-splattered basement was Peter Meroth, a 31-year-old resident of the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston. Meroth, along with the other victims, was discovered by the janitor when he arrived for work, lying in a cramped and bloody subterranean basement that served as the establishment's office.
