In the early evening of September 23, 2015, Natho C. Bellegarde, a 21-year-old Black man, was enjoying a scooter ride with his uncle through the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston. They had just left the home of his mother and grandmother on Hartwell Street and made a stop on Intervale Street. The block was filled with people at the time, the day winding down.
