On April 19, 2012, 24-year-old Kanagala Seshadri Rao, a graduate student from India, was shot and killed in the Allston neighborhood of Boston. Rao, who was enrolled in a prestigious mathematical finance program at Boston University, was found lying in the street with gunshot wounds to his head and leg at approximately 2:40 a.m. near 112 Allston Street.
