The opposing group, there to sell the drugs, included 20-year-old David Blount of Smyrna. The botched deal erupted in gunfire, leading to the deaths of both Bobbitt and Blount. The exchange of bullets also left two other men wounded. The incident drew immediate attention from Cobb County law enforcement, who launched a thorough investigation into the double homicide.
