Deandre Brooks, a 26-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on February 15, 2017, in Austell, Georgia. The incident occurred at the Windwood Apartments on Shenandoah Trail, where Brooks and another victim, Roderick Foster, were both shot. The shooting took place around 7 p.m. while firefighters were on the scene to assist with a separate incident involving a child locked in a car. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, both Brooks and Foster succumbed to their injuries.
