Nathaniel Dumas, a 34-year-old African American male, was tragically found dead on September 15, 2014, in Lithonia, Georgia. His body, along with that of Marquita Smith, a 31-year-old African American female, was discovered by a maid at the Knights Inn on Panola Road. Both victims had been shot, and it was believed that they had been deceased for some time before being found. The discovery of their bodies marked the beginning of a complex investigation into their deaths.
