In the late afternoon of Saturday, September 25, 2021, a domestic dispute in a Lithonia, Georgia neighborhood escalated into a fatal encounter, leaving one man dead. Pizzarius Webb, a 51-year-old African American male, was shot and killed in the 3000 block of Woodrow Drive in Stonecrest. The incident, which unfolded around 6 p.m., was the tragic result of what authorities believe to be a heated argument.
Responding to a call, DeKalb County police discovered Webb suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, he did not survive his injuries. The preliminary investigation pointed to a relative, 29-year-old Schuyler Jenkins, as the perpetrator. It is alleged that the argument between Webb and Jenkins preceded the fatal shooting.
Following the incident, Schuyler Jenkins was promptly arrested and taken into custody. He has since been charged with malice murder in connection with the death of Pizzarius Webb and is being held at the DeKalb County Jail. Webb's death was one of three homicides that occurred in DeKalb County over that weekend, prompting concern and mourning within the community.
