In the early hours of July 5, 2010, the promising life of 17-year-old John Crowder, a Black male, was tragically cut short on the streets of Baltimore, Maryland. A nationally ranked basketball standout, Crowder was found bleeding on a sidewalk in East Baltimore, not far from the home of his grandmother who had raised him.
