On a summer day in Baltimore, Maryland, tragedy struck 38-year-old William Smith. On August 11, 2021, on the 3500 block of West Belvedere Avenue, Smith was fatally shot in an act of violence that would later be connected to a man with a lengthy criminal history. The incident cut short the life of a man who was a father to an 8-year-old son and left his family devastated.
