On New Year's Day in 2016, the life of 36-year-old Kawammi Jackson, an African American male, was tragically cut short in Savannah, Georgia. His body was discovered on the front porch of a residence in the 400 block of West 60th Street just before 4 p.m. He had been fatally shot, and authorities immediately began treating the case as a homicide.
