In the autumn of 2016, the life of 28-year-old Carl Crosby Jr. was tragically cut short in what remains an unsolved crime in Atlanta, Georgia. A father of two, known to his loved ones as 'CJ,' Crosby was discovered shot to death in the basement of his grandmother's home on Vanderbilt Court in the northwest part of the city on the evening of November 2, 2016.

His mother, Jaynicia Cosby, described her son as a devoted father who worked in a warehouse and had a passion for cars. His father, Carl Cosby Sr., expressed his grief and frustration, believing the person who came to the door had malicious intentions. Despite the release of the surveillance video and the family's pleas for justice, the motive for the killing remained a mystery to investigators.
As of early 2017, the case was among dozens of unsolved homicides in Atlanta for that year. No arrests have been publicly announced, and the identity of the man in the surveillance video remains unknown.
