Malachi Hemphill, a 13-year-old African American boy from Forest Park, Georgia, tragically died on April 11, 2017. The incident occurred while Malachi was live-streaming on Instagram. He was handling a Hi-Point 9 mm pistol when it accidentally discharged, resulting in a fatal gunshot wound to his head. His mother, Shaniqua Stephens, and his sister heard the gunshot from another room and rushed to his bedroom, where they found him lying in a pool of blood.
