In the late hours of a Wednesday evening in Macon, Georgia, 38-year-old Jian Fang Wang, an employee at Hot Wings Plus on Pio Nono Avenue, was leaving work with two colleagues. As they approached their cars around 10:15 p.m., a man emerged from the shadows behind the restaurant. The unidentified assailant went to Mr. Wang's car and fired a weapon multiple times into the vehicle.
The shooter then grabbed a bag, believed to contain money from the business, and fled in a vehicle. Mr. Wang was rushed to the Medical Center Navicent Health, but he succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at 11:43 p.m.
This tragic event was the second fatal robbery of a business employee in Macon within a 72-hour period, leaving the local community on edge. Investigators described the suspect's vehicle as a possible 2016 or 2017 Toyota Camry or Corolla with a temporary license plate. As of the day following the incident, no arrests had been made in connection with the murder of Jian Fang Wang.
