Jayvon Sherman, a 16-year-old African American male, was tragically killed on October 19, 2017, in Macon, Georgia. Jayvon was a student at Central High School and was described by his principal as one of the "good kids" who was trying to do things the right way. On the morning of his death, Jayvon was walking to school when he was shot in the chest near the former Winship School on Beech Avenue. This incident marked the 22nd homicide in Macon-Bibb County for that year.
