Michael Whitaker Jr., a 45-year-old African American man, was tragically shot and killed on February 10, 2020, near downtown Macon, Georgia. The incident occurred on Concord Street just before 6:30 p.m. According to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones, Whitaker was pronounced dead shortly after 7 p.m. at the Medical Center, Navicent Health, due to multiple gunshot wounds.
