Joseph McDaniel, a 19-year-old male student from Berry College in Rome, Georgia, was tragically shot and killed on October 28, 2017. McDaniel, who was originally from Columbus, Georgia, was found dead in his apartment complex in Rome. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, and police were called to the scene following a report to Floyd 911. McDaniel was studying business management at Berry College and was described as a promising young student.
