In the winter of 2017, the life of 15-year-old Jamiles Taylor was tragically cut short in Tifton, Georgia. On the afternoon of Saturday, December 23rd, police were called to the Peterson's Apartments where they discovered the young male had been killed. The cause of his death was later attributed to gun violence.
The Tifton Police Department quickly identified 17-year-old James Robert Pritchett as the primary suspect in the homicide. A warrant for malice murder was issued for Pritchett, who was believed to have fled the area with his 15-year-old girlfriend, Naryah Redding. Authorities considered Pritchett to be armed and dangerous, prompting a public appeal for information and a $1,000 reward for tips leading to his capture. While the motive for the fatal shooting was not publicly disclosed, the search for the teenage suspect intensified.
Days later, on December 29th, the search came to an end. Acting on a tip, the Berrien County Sheriff's Office, with assistance from the Tifton Police Department, the U.S. Marshal's Office, and the Georgia Department of Corrections K-9 unit, located and arrested James Pritchett at a residence in Berrien County. It was also reported that several individuals who had assisted Pritchett in evading law enforcement had been taken into custody, with charges pending against them.
