On the morning of March 9, 2018, 34-year-old African American male Jeffrey Lee Raymond was fatally shot at the Baymont Inn and Suites in Statesboro, Georgia. A native of Springfield, Massachusetts, Jeffrey had resided in Bulloch County for many years. Around 6 a.m., he was found with gunshot wounds on the fourth floor of the hotel.
