On that Saturday morning, at approximately 10:50 a.m., law enforcement and emergency services were dispatched to a residence on Highway 46 near Waters Cemetery Road following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered a harrowing scene. Both Johnny and his father, Jarrell Lairscy Sr., were found outside their home, suffering from gunshot wounds. Medical personnel provided immediate aid at the scene before transporting both victims to East Georgia Regional Medical Center. Despite the efforts of medical staff, Johnny Lairscy succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. His father was later transferred to Memorial Medical Center in Savannah for further treatment of his injuries.
