Grady Jenkins, a 64-year-old Black man from Decatur, Georgia, was described in news reports as a kind, generous person, and that generosity appears to have placed him in the path of the man who killed him. On June 10, 2018, police said Jenkins went to a Citgo gas station in Decatur and picked up a young man to bring back to his home on Oregon Trail for yard work.
