In the a neighborhood of Manhattan, a male New York City Police Patrolman named William Baumeister, assigned to the 29th Precinct, would find his life cut short in a violent encounter. On the evening of November 29, 1900, while on duty at 113th Street between 1st and 2nd Avenues, Patrolman Baumeister witnessed a brutal assault.
