On October 30, 2018, Jan Elizabeth Kirkland, a 64-year-old woman, was found dead in her home in Saint George, Georgia. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) was called in by the Charlton County Sheriff’s Office to assist in the investigation. Alongside Jan Elizabeth Kirkland, two other individuals were found deceased: Kimberly Gayle Butts, a 39-year-old woman, and Caleb Logan Butts, a 15-year-old teenager. All three victims had sustained gunshot wounds.
