In the quiet community of Saint George, Georgia, a tragedy unfolded in late October of 2018, leaving a family and the local residents in shock. On a Tuesday, the bodies of 64-year-old Jan Elizabeth Kirkland, her 39-year-old daughter Kimberly Gayle Butts, and her 15-year-old grandson Caleb Logan Butts were discovered in their home. The initial investigation, led by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation pointed towards a grim conclusion: a double homicide and suicide.
