In the quiet city of Augusta, Georgia, a tragedy unfolded that cut short the lives of a mother and her daughter, leaving a community in mourning. Tammy Lakenda Walker Briggs, a 46-year-old woman, was killed by gunfire on March 14, 2021. The violence of that day also claimed the life of her 21-year-old daughter, April Williams.
