Mercedes Nora Shanice Gibson, a 27-year-old African American woman from Augusta, GA, tragically lost her life on January 14, 2022. She was one of the victims in a domestic double murder that also claimed the life of her friend, Raven Michelle Tolbert, who was also 27 years old. The incident occurred on Hammond Avenue in Augusta, where both women were fatally shot. The authorities responded to the scene and found both victims deceased from gunshot wounds.
