In April 2019, the life of 16-year-old Arkeyvion White was tragically cut short in what authorities described as a murder-suicide in Stockbridge, Georgia. A sophomore and football player at Dutchtown High School, Arkeyvion was known for his polite and studious nature, as well as his determination on the football field. He was found deceased in an upstairs bedroom of his home following a lengthy police standoff.

The tragic events began to unfold when Arkeyvion's aunt, Anetria White, discovered the body of her sister, 39-year-old Sandra White, in the garage of the family's home. Sandra, a registered nurse who was eight months pregnant, had been shot and killed. When police responded to the scene, they were met with gunfire from inside the house. The gunman was identified as 47-year-old Anthony Bailey Jr., Sandra White's live-in boyfriend. Family members reported that Sandra had been unhappy in her relationship with Bailey and had recently served him with eviction papers, which he refused to accept.

What followed was a tense 15-hour standoff with Bailey, who had barricaded himself inside the residence and claimed to have a hostage. During the standoff, two police officers were shot and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Negotiations with Bailey were unsuccessful, and he refused to provide any proof of the hostage's well-being. In the pre-dawn hours of the following day, law enforcement officers forced their way into the home.

Inside, they discovered the bodies of Arkeyvion White and Anthony Bailey Jr. in the same room. It was determined that Bailey had shot and killed Arkeyvion before turning the gun on himself. The loss of Arkeyvion, his mother, and his unborn sibling, who was to be named Antonio, sent shockwaves through the community. Friends and classmates remembered the young football player, nicknamed 'Big White,' as a caring and funny individual with a bright future ahead of him.
