In a tragic incident in Stockbridge, Georgia, 28-year-old Matthew Robert Pineda, a male, was found deceased inside a residence. The discovery was made by first responders in a bedroom of a home located in the 3900 block of Jodeco Road. Pineda had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Henry County police investigators identified a suspect, 24-year-old Ajai Darquez Allen of Griffin, who was known to the victim. According to authorities, Allen was in possession of a handgun when it discharged, striking Pineda. While the exact circumstances of the discharge were not immediately clear, it was described by police as an accidental shooting.
Following the incident, Ajai Darquez Allen was taken into custody and charged with involuntary manslaughter. He was subsequently booked into the Henry County Jail. Records indicate that Allen was later released on a $5,000 bond. The investigation into the shooting was ongoing.
