In the early morning hours of the Fourth of July in 2019, tragedy struck in Marietta, Georgia, when 17-year-old Jalante Brown, an African American male, was found deceased inside his home on Penny Lane. The teenager, a student at Marietta High School, had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Authorities were alerted to the situation and responded to the residence at approximately 1:15 a.m., where they pronounced him dead at the scene.
The news of the young man's violent death sent ripples of sorrow through the community, with school officials expressing their sincere condolences to his grieving family.
The investigation into the homicide quickly moved forward. In the weeks that followed the discovery of Brown's body, law enforcement officials worked to identify those responsible for the shooting. Their efforts led them to a suspect, Lord Isaiah Angulo, who was 20 or 21 years old at the time.
