Demetrius Towns, a 32-year-old African American man from Atlanta, Georgia, was tragically shot to death on June 17, 2015, at the Masters Inn on Windy Hill Road in Marietta, Georgia. Cobb County Police responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunshots at the motel. Upon arrival, officers found Towns lying in a second-floor breezeway, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite their efforts, Towns was pronounced dead at the scene.
