In the summer of 2019, the community of Gainesville, Georgia, was shaken by the death of 28-year-old Hall County Sheriff's Deputy Nicolas Blane Dixon. A dedicated lawman and a married father of two young sons, Dixon was killed in the line of duty on the night of July 7th. The events that led to the fatal encounter began when deputies attempted to stop a stolen car believed to be connected to a string of recent burglaries in the area.
