On July 13, 2019, Cedric Kind, a 40-year-old African American male, was found shot to death in his bed at his residence on East Cyprus Street in Fitzgerald, Georgia. His death occurred shortly after his brother, Kevin Kind, a 41-year-old African American male, was also found shot to death inside a local car wash on East Palm Street. The murders of the Kind brothers, which happened within a span of 30 minutes, have left the community in shock and grief.
