Markevios D. Jenkins, a 31-year-old resident of Fitzgerald, Georgia, was found dead on Sunday, October 1, 2023. The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. when the Fitzgerald Police Department responded to a "shots fired" call at 600 East Sultana Drive in Fitzgerald. Upon arrival, officers discovered a White Kia Sportage stopped at a stop sign, and upon checking the vehicle, they found Jenkins unresponsive in the driver's seat with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
