Carlesa Reneau, a 47-year-old African American woman from Decatur, Georgia, tragically lost her life on October 2, 2019. The incident occurred around noon at a residence on Columbia Drive. Carlesa was on her way to pick up her grandchildren when she was caught in the crossfire of a shootout. She was struck in the back by a stray bullet fired from a rifle by Karlo Rafael Brownlee, a 30-year-old man from Atlanta. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, Carlesa succumbed to her injuries.
